2Peter 1: 3-8 "In view of all this, make every effort to respond to God's promises. Supplement your faith with a generous provision of moral excellence, and moral excellence with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with patient endurance, and patient endurance with godliness, and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love for everyone."
I have to take some medications to supplement for some lack of chemicals that are missing in my brain. If I didn't take them I would be down in the dumps or swinging from a chandelier. Neither options are very much fun for those I live with or myself. Peter lists supplements for our faith. He has stacked them very nicely, one on top of another like a nice neat pile of pancakes. Moral excellence, on top of that knowledge, on top of that self-control, on top of that patient endurance, on top of that godliness, on top of that brotherly affection, on top of them all love for everyone.! Sounds like a pretty impressive list of supplements to take as a daily dose for the Christian life.
