Psalm 1: 1,3,4 "Oh, the joys of those who do not follow the advice of the wicked, or stand around with sinners,...They are like trees planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit each season....But not the wicked! They are like worthless chaff, scattered by the wind."
The time of the year the fresh fruit is in is one of my favorite. I love to look at the groves of colored fruit and pick them to fill my basket. What a rewarding time. It is also the time of year the grain is ready to harvest. In some countries of the world the farmers still toss the grain in the air so the useless part called the chaff is blown away. What a wonderful contrast is the luscious colorful fruit compared to the useless chaff that the wind just blows away. When we follow the ways of God and live for Him, our lives take on growth and usefulness in the Kingdom of God. But when we go astray, our lives are useless and do no good for the Kingdom. Let us continue to live for God and be useful in the Kingdom and grow and mature in our Christian lives.
