Are you a fan or a follower of Jesus? This is the question that was being asked in our Sunday School class for the past several weeks. The question puts me in mind of a football game. Look at all the fans on the sidelines cheering on their favorite team. But the real players of the game are out on the field fighting for all they are worth to retrieve the ball and score a touch down. They are the real followers of the game. Being a true follower of Jesus may not require leaving our jobs but it can require following Jesus out there on the work force every day, Each of us will know how that will look best as we follow Jesus and not just be a fan, cheering Him on.
